| "Lebanese Forces" leader, Samir Geagea, said on Thursday that the party's decision to choose General Michel Aoun for the presidential election was serious, "while Hezbollah showed that it does not want a President for Lebanon and not even General Aoun."
Geagea's stance came on Thursday via a video message during a dinner organized by "Lebanese Forces" Center in Restaurant Lordia in Montreal in Canada under the sponsorship of the LF leader, and in the presence of a large number of figures.
Concerning Maarab reconciliation, Geagea said that this move was historic; "it required boldness and courage."
He wished everyone would put the painful history behind and look to the future to build a new Lebanon.
He also praised the efforts of Lebanese Forces' supporters in Montreal, thanking Canada for all what it gave to Lebanon and Lebanese people.
For his part, MP Antoine Zahra, present at the dinner representing Geagea, talked about the status quo in Lebanon amid crisis, adding that "after what the tyrant of Damascus did in Lebanese regions, he left Lebanon after the Cedar Revolution that united the Lebanesep therefore he poured his hatred on his people who have been suffering five years of devastating war."
Zahra promised to continue facing all attempts that aimed to place Lebanon under any tutelage.
