| Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri received this afternoon at the "Center House" a delegation of presidents and members of municipalities and mayors from the Western Bekaa and Rashaya, in the presence of MPs Jamal Jarrah, Antoine Saad, Ziad Kadri and Amin Wehbe and members of the "Future Movement" Coordination committee for Western Bekaa and Rashaya.
Hariri said: "Welcome to this house that gathers all Lebanese. You are the people of the Bekaa, the people of love, courage and loyalty, you accompanied the path of Martyr Prime Minister Rafic Hariri since its beginning, never left him and stood by our side the day of his martyrdom, and we will stand by you and will not leave you.
We will continue this journey that embodies the project of Rafic Hariri, based on moderation, development and the advancement of the country and the people".
He added: "Our project is a national project for all of Lebanon, and we will not compromise on our principles and national constants, whatever the challenges. As you know, we launched an initiative to elect a President and end the vacancy, since the vacancy is fatal and destructive for the State and the country, and we hope to be able to elect a president soon.
We are doing everything we can to achieve this goal. There are things that we agreed on with candidate Suleiman Franjieh and others we disagree on. We decided to leave the controversial issues aside and the relationship between us is honest and frank. "
Concerning the meeting with the former Minister Abdul Rahim Mrad and the issues discussed, he said: "Several meetings between Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and former minister Murad laid the ground for that meeting that focused on the need to meet and dialogue about the issues raised. During the meeting, which was forthright, I confirmed our principles and political and national constants. We are with the Syrian people's revolution against the Syrian regime, publicly and on top of the roof, and against Iran's interference in Lebanon and in any Arab country, I also emphasized that we reject the Lebanese resistance Brigades and their practices".
Asked about his relationship with the Head of the Democratic Gathering MP Walid Jumblatt, he said: "Our relationship is fraternal and political based on respect and mutual understanding. I consider MP Jumblatt as a big brother, because when my father martyred, he stood with all of you, he stood with our family when we were bidding farewell to my father and this is something I will never forget in my life."
Finally, Hariri discussed the needs of the Western Bekaa and Rashaya region and said: "I know that your region needs necessary and essential projects, especially regarding drinking water and sewage. We will give our attention in the next phase to these projects, and I will follow up personally, with the government and the CDR, efforts to accelerate the pace of their implementation."
