| Future Parliamentary Bloc Head, former PM Fuad Siniora, vowed Sunday that "March 14th shall remain no matter how huge the obstacles or disputes," adding that "any dropping of its project destroys a nation of moderation and openness."
Siniora's words came during the 2nd commemoration of Martyr Mohamad Shatah's assassination at Martyr Rafic Hariri's Hall in Mohamad al-Amine Mosque in Central Beirut, amidst a crowd of senior State officials.
Siniora paid tribute to the late Marytr saying, "Shatah was an enlightened man with an open mind, who was honest with himself and his surroundings, and dreamt of Lebanon a modern, civilized nation based on the concept of citizenship and equality within a democratic system."
"He was a man of dialogue and communication with the other, and most of all, he was a man who loved following-up on what was happening in the world at large on various economic, financial, political and cultural levels, employing his knowledge and insight in the service of Lebanon," added Siniora.
"Shatah believed in Lebanon a state of law and institutions, of respect for the Constitution and the implementation of the Taif Accord, a nation of coexistence, in which public liberties, justice and proper sharing of rights and duties are safeguarded and well-preserved," Siniora went on.
"Mohammed Shatah was assassinated in a mindless moment of the capable State's eye, a State that is fair and strong, entrusted with the confidence of its citizens, one which we still long for, working relentlessly till its achievement, for our sake and our future generations, and for the sake of all our martyrs like our dear Shatah," said Siniora.
