Future bloc welcomed the most recent reconciliation that occurred on Monday at Maarab between the Lebanese Forces and Free Patriotic Movement, underlining the importance of holding presidential elections to end the longstanding vacuum.

Future Bloc's fresh words on Tuesday came in a statement in the wake of its regular weekly meeting to discuss most recent developments on the local arena, notably with regard to presidential elections.

The Bloc underlined its commitment to the directions of former Prime Minister Saad Hariri in the presidential issue, saying that the final word in this context goes to the Parliament, amidst the democratic system and under the ceiling of the constitution.

On the other hand, the Bloc strongly condemned the recent decision by the Military Court to release former minister Michel Samaha, saying that such a decision sends a message to the Lebanese people that they are forbidden from living in security and peace and from dreaming of a just and decent judiciary.

The Bloc insisted on referring Michel Samaha's case to the Judicial Council and work on amending the laws that govern the work of the Military court so that it won't remain a tool of pressure, oppression and intimidation practiced on citizens.

Future also underlined the dire need for "activating the work of the government," calling on the Cabinet to adopt waste exportation as a temporary solution, due to the failure of reaching an internal solution to this serious and deepening crisis. The Bloc called for finding local, permanent and non-costly solutions in this regard in the various Lebanese regions.
