| Lebanese Forces head, Samir Geagea, said on Tuesday "the ongoing contacts, starting from the Saudi-Syrian bid till the current meetings in New York, aim at preserving stability in Lebanon."
"Nonetheless, the problem lays in March 8 camp which is promoting wrong information about the settlement," he said.
Geagea made these remarks while speaking to journalists after his meeting with the Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alex Bertlem.
Lashing out at the Opposition's "swindling" attempts, Geagea called upon the Lebanese not to believe what is being spread by media outlets about an accomplished settlement or a cancellation of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. "The STL is a red line", he stressed.
As holding the Opposition responsible for blocking the country and derailing the Cabinet, Geagea said that March 8 camp reckons on Prime Minister Saad Hariri's withdrawal of trust in the Tribunal. "This is not going to happen," he underlined.
Thus he ruled out the resignation of Premier Hariri stressing that "in case he does resign, we will designate him again."
"The Opposition is bracing for a political confrontation and for more blocking and paralysis in the country," he said.
On the other hand, Geagea received a delegation of "Multazimoun" association headed by Najib Zouein who briefed him over the campaign in support for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon via gathering signatures by Lebanese citizens on a pro-STL petition to be submitted to UN Chief Ban Ki-moon.
